Selecting the Right Computer Technician for Desktop Computer Repair

You have a choice of over 204,299 desktop computer repair technicians in the USA, reports Zippia. That is a vast amount of choice, and it is vital you pick the right technician for your computer repair work.

Without your desktop, productivity grinds to a halt. You stare in frustration at the oblong box that used to be your center of communication, entertainment, and management. You need to get back online fast.

So, how do you get the desktop computer repairs you need? You need to be clear about the work you need and the ideal type of technician.

Today, we’ll learn how to find the right tech for the job. Read on!

Desktop Computer Repair Certifications

Indeed reports that computer repair technicians need a high school diploma at the absolute minimum. This is for entry-level work, and they would also need to complete extensive on-the-job training. Most desktop computer technicians complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer hardware, IT, computer science, cybersecurity, or engineering.

Professional certifications come next. Technicians can gain CompTIA certifications to cement their right to work in the industry. CompTIA is the leading certifying body in the IT world, and certification shows a commitment to the industry.

Technicians can study system-specific certifications for major computer companies. Microsoft and Apple both offer training courses, and techs can gain Linux qualifications from several online schools.

Computer Repair Experience

You should ask which systems your desktop repairs technician has experience working on. Skilled techs can adapt their approach to various systems, but for tricky issues, they should specialize in your platform.

You should ask if they have experience with your specific problem. Broken screen repair can differ by brand, for example. Like with systems experience, this will save you time and help you get high-quality computer desktop repairs.

Time in the industry is also key. It can feel a bit rude to ask this but look on their website to see how long they have been in business. Subpar technicians tend to last a short time in the industry. Reputation is crucial, but we’ll look at that later!

Specialisms

The top desktop computer technicians tend to specialize in a subset of computer skills. This narrows their field of study but boosts their proficiency with specific desktop computer repairs.

Some desktop computers use legacy technology. For example, traditional banks use legacy systems written in COBOL, RPG, and Assembler. These languages are so specific that it is hard to find a technician versed in them; you may need to pay a premium for these computer repairs.

You may need a technician who specializes in physical repairs. CPU, hard drive, motherboard, and other hardware repairs need precise engineering to get right. The technician should have all the tools needed to complete the job fast.

Performance and Maintenance

You may only need to boost your system’s efficiency. Nothing may be physically wrong, but your computer has become so slow it is unworkable. This is frustrating but also costly to your productivity, as each extra minute could shave dollars from your work.

You could attempt to do this yourself, but freeing up RAM and hard drive space is risky. You may delete sensitive system files, making your problem 100 times worse. You could also lose access to essential business files.

You could think of RAM as your working short-term memory. It is like trying to recall a shopping list in your head, and eventually, you struggle to remember extra items. Your hard drive is like a huge filing cabinet, and the more clutter you have, the harder it is to find the right documents.

Your computer repair technician should offer cloud and backup services. These can be tricky to set up over large networks, so you may need a tech specialized in cloud and network engineering. You should automate your backups to ensure your files are there when you need them.

Security and Data Protection

Cybercrime cost the USA $6.9 billion in 2021! Your desktop computer technician should comply with data protection laws while they work on your system. Depending on your type of work, you could have sensitive personal information or client data on your hard drive.

They should back up your files before they start their computer repairs. This is elementary-level stuff in the industry, but mistakes can happen. Make sure they use a secure deletion system after they complete repairs.

Need cybersecurity computer repair work? You should look for technicians certified by CISSP, CISA, Security+, CEH, or CISM. These are the main cybersecurity certifications; some schools offer intensive courses to improve technicians’ security skills.

Find Your Desktop Computer Repair Technician

You know what to look for, now let’s find you a quality tech! Online search is the place to start, so try putting your specific problem into your favorite search engine. Location keywords help to localize your search, and you can input your system type to filter results.

Check some online reviews once you have a list of potential repair techs. Their reputation should be stellar, and reviews that talk about your specific issues are the most useful. If you have friends who have used a desktop computer repair tech, ask them for their advice.

Turnaround time is key to getting back online again. The best technicians should complete most desktop repairs in under 4 hours. If you need mobile device repair too, you can ask about how long this takes at the same time.

DIY vs. Professional Gadget Repair: Which is Right for You?

There’s a lot to be said for being capable when it comes to repairs in the digital age. We’re all reliant on our gizmos and gadgets in some form or another. They don’t come cheap either, so getting hands-on with technical problems can save you a pretty penny.

The question of when it’s a good idea to get stuck into a problem ourselves often isn’t as straightforward as we’d like. More often than not we might end up making the problem worse or causing additional damage during an attempt to fix an existing problem.

If you’re on the fence about how to proceed with necessary gadget repair, we’ve got you covered! Read on to find out more.

Getting Your Hands Dirty

For most of us, the internal workings of many of our technological gadgets are a complete mystery. Remembering to charge our phones and not drop them too often is as in-depth a maintenance schedule as we’re usually familiar with. Despite this kind of rigorous babying, the wear always begins to show eventually.

The odd scratch can be overlooked. Quirks of character are often acceptable despite requiring a clumsy workaround. The rub begins where issues can no longer be ignored, or the use of a particular facet of the gizmo fails completely.

In this case, it’s not uncommon for the nonplussed owner to turn to Google or YouTube in the hopes of a quick fix. More often than not, the answer is going to involve some amateur sleuthing and some even more amateur surgery after the fact. The further your research takes you, the more complicated things become.

The Unfortunate Reality of DIY and Tech

As your research progresses, you may well find a likely culprit for your issue. If it’s a common problem, people will have discussed solutions in detail that you can follow yourself. The community that surrounds the right-to-repair movement is gaining in popularity and people are generally happy to share their expertise.

Diagnosing the issue once you have an idea of what you’re looking for is where problems start to arise. Step one is opening your device up, which in principle sounds like it ought to be simple enough, but in practice, it’s often a different story. It doesn’t take long before you realize most brands don’t want you tinkering in places where, in their eyes at least, you don’t belong.

The unfortunate reality of DIY when it comes to tech is that companies want you to buy new, not to repair. To this end, they take steps to make repair substantially more difficult than it needs to be. They have a few strategies in place to this end, each more frustrating than the last.

Some brands are worse offenders than others. Apple is particularly fervent when it comes to anti-consumer practices. If you’re looking into iPhone repair or replacing an iPad battery, for example, you may want to consult the professionals.

Specialized Tools

Due to many gadget repairs requiring specialized tools, you may find yourself unable to reach the problem area for repairs. Big brands want people to think of their tech as either functional or non-functional, and not something the layman could ever conceive of fixing themselves. To further this ideal, they like to use unusual fixings and fasteners so that common household tools are rendered useless.

If you’re feeling frustrated, you’re not alone! Don’t worry though, if you’d rather not pay for specialized tools to try to do the job yourself, the simple answer is to employ the time and expertise of the professionals. They already have the tools for the job and are well-versed in fixing all manner of tech-related grievances.

It’s perfectly understandable to want to fix the problem yourself, but this is only possible in a handful of cases. Fixing tech usually involves an exhaustive diagnostic process before you even get started. Even diagnosing the problem can require professional instruments such as voltage meters and vision magnifying equipment.

The Difference Between DIY and Professional Services

While it’s quite possible to purchase all of the tools the professionals use, using them is another matter entirely. If you’ve successfully diagnosed a common problem, like how to fix a charging port, you may need to delve into the murky waters of soldering.

For most people, this is a process that can be learned with time and dedication. It’s by no means rocket science, but one misstep and all your work will be for naught. Even if you successfully install the new charging port with perfect soldering, how often are you going to need all the expensive equipment you bought?

A professional service will offer a quick turnaround time and even offer to price match quotes from their competition. You’ll even receive the peace of mind that’s only available from a solid guarantee that will cover your device if the repairs don’t hold up in the future.

Sourcing parts can be a real headache, too. You may find yourself searching far and wide online for a specific part, only to find yourself waiting weeks for it to arrive. Professional repair services keep high-quality parts in stock to ensure the process is completed as quickly as possible.

Laptop repair is costly in both time and money. The question of “How much to fix Macbook Pro screen?” is like asking how long a piece of string is. It’s best to leave such complexities to the professionals.

Professional and Reliable Gadget Repair

Ultimately if the problem is straightforward it’s always worth tackling yourself. The contentment from saving money and fixing something with your own two hands can’t be overstated, especially if you learn a thing or two along the way. For all the truly fiddly tasks that could easily go badly awry, it’s best to consult the professionals when it comes to gadget repair.

How to Choose iPhone Repair Services: Everything You Need to Know

Surveys show that 87 million people dealt with smartphone damage throughout 2020. Whether you shatter your screen or drop your phone into the pool, it is essential that you find a professional repair service to fix your smartphone.

Otherwise, you could worsen the damage or cause other issues with your phone. Do you want to learn how to choose iPhone repair services that work best for your needs and your budget?

Keep reading this guide for everything you need to know to choose the best iPhone repair service options!

Compare Repair Costs

Comparing iPhone repair costs is one of the first things you should do when selecting a company to work with. While you want to be sure that you find a company that offers high-quality services, you also need to find a repair service that fits your budget.

If the services are too expensive, it may be worth it to simply buy a new iPhone.

Still, you should never choose the cheapest service. This will often result in sloppy repairs done with low-quality parts. Instead, you need to consider both the value of the services as well as the price you will pay.

Consider Experience

While price is an important factor to consider, you also need to find a high-quality repair company to work with. Finding a technician with iPhone repair experience will ensure that you get the best repairs possible.

If you don’t research a company’s experience, you may find that they do not properly repair your phone or that they worsen the damage to your phone.

Experts know exactly how to handle an iPhone and repair it without causing further damage. Make sure you find a company that has been in business for several years before you hire them! You should also be sure that they specialize in the types of repair that you need.

Check Out the Services

Next, you should learn more about the services that a repair technician offers. This will help you find a company that can help you with your exact problems and will also help you learn more about your technician’s skills and experience.

First, you must find a company with services for your exact type of phone. An iPhone X is much different than an iPhone 7, so you need to find a company that knows about the specifications of your phone.

Next, you should learn more about the types of repairs they offer. Do they do more than screen replacements?

At Fruit Fixed, we offer everything from glass replacement to battery replacement and more. We also offer phones and other devices for sale if you need to replace your old phone!

Research Company Reputation

To find a company that you can rely on, you need to research its reputation. How well do they treat their clients? What will they do to ensure that you have a great experience when working with them?

Reading online reviews is a simple way to learn more about a company’s reputation and to see how they interact with both satisfied and dissatisfied customers.

Make sure you scan through each review to see if there are any red flags that you must consider before paying for a service.

Find a Convenient Location

Choosing a company with a convenient location is also essential when you are repairing your iPhone. Because people are so dependent on their phones, finding a repair service in a convenient location will minimize the amount of time you are without your phone.

Some companies will even offer mobile repair services and will come to your home or another location to help with the repairs!

Ask About Warranty Options

Because phones can be so expensive, you may want to find a phone repair service that offers warranties on their services.

Different companies will offer different types of warranties. For example, some will offer warranties on the parts. If your phone’s replacement parts wear out too quickly, you can get them replaced for free.

Other companies offer warranties on their labor and services. If the repair service doesn’t fix your phone or if the problem persists, they can continue to troubleshoot your device until they get to the root cause of the issues.

Learn About the Parts They Use

Whether you need to get a new battery or you need to replace your iPhone screen, you must find a repair service that uses high-quality replacement parts. Apple sells spare parts for their phones that you can use for repair.

Other times, you may need to find another manufacturer for specific parts.

Finding a repair technician that uses genuine Apple parts will give you the best results from your services and will ensure that your phone works properly for years to come.

Consider the Length of the Repair

Finally, you must consider the duration of the repair. While repairs to your iPhone may only take a few hours, this can be a huge inconvenience for many people. Whether you work from your phone or simply use your phone a lot, it is important that you find out how long it will take to get your phone repaired.

Finding a professional repair service that can quickly diagnose and fix the issues with your phone will provide you with peace of mind and will help you get back to your regular activities as quickly as possible.

Bad Habits That Are Ruining Your Tech Devices

With more and more shiny new devices launching on the market every day, keeping up with tech trends can get expensive. On average, smartphones cost us a whopping $228 per year of use, with laptops not far behind. Video game consoles and smartwatches may cost us less than $100 per year of use, but that doesn’t make us want to protect them any less!

Getting the most out of your tech devices means knowing how to extend their lifespan. Unfortunately, a few bad habits can ruin your devices fast. Let’s take a look at some of the most common ways people damage their favorite devices without even knowing.

Charging Devices Overnight

When it comes to bad habits with tech, most people have heard the popular advice that charging your device overnight can be bad news for your battery.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a myth. Keeping your phone charging at 100% for long periods, whether it’s day or night, can strain a lithium-ion battery. This is because batteries grow warmer when plugged into a charger, and heat decreases your battery life.

However, if you do choose to charge a device overnight, know that some modern devices fare better than others.

Newer Apple devices, for example, support optimized battery charging. With this feature enabled, your iPhone will stop charging past 80% based on your charging schedule. Your phone then predicts what time you’ll unplug it, typically the time you wake in the morning, and schedules a rapid charge to 100% right before then.

Draining Your Battery Too Often

Another way to kill any lithium-ion battery is to drain it until it’s dead.

Modern batteries are strained the most when they’re low or empty as well as when they’re fully charged. In an ideal world, you’ll keep your device’s battery charged to a sweet spot of 30-80% at all times. (Note that taking your battery off a charger before it hits a 100% charge isn’t damaging; this common myth is a holdover from the days of nickel-cadmium batteries.)

If you haven’t plugged in your device before it hits 20%, be sure to turn on the battery saver mode, if it has one. Both iPhone and Android devices offer various power-saving settings that help preserve your battery life until you can find the nearest outlet.

Using Unofficial Chargers

It’s always a good idea to use the charger that came with your device. Barring that, you should replace broken or lost chargers with another model from the original manufacturer. You can also use chargers from brands that go through the trouble of getting certification from the original manufacturer, such as Apple’s MFi certification.

Unofficial chargers may not send the right current to your device. Some chargers may not stop delivering a charge when your device’s battery is full. Both of these things can wreak havoc on your battery life.

While it’s true that some unofficial chargers may offer the perfect charge, it can be hard to tell whether or not you’re getting a product tailored to your device. Instead, play it safe and reach for an official or certified product.

Failing to Update

Whether you’re dealing with a phone, tablet, or computer, it’s important to update your device’s iOS when a new one is available. Sure, updates take time and may require a reboot, but they can also make your device more stable and usable while adding new features.

Even better, software updates often patch known vulnerabilities in your iOS. These patches protect your sensitive data and even safeguard your device from malware and viruses that can affect the software in the long run.

Leaving Devices in the Sun

As we mentioned above, heat is a battery killer. Worse, too much heat can cause permanent damage to your phone, impacting your files, limiting processing power, or even making certain features inaccessible. You may end up needing to buy a new phone!

It’s tempting to keep your expensive tech by your side when you’re sunbathing or exercising outside, and you might not think twice about leaving it on the front dash of your car. However, these habits can cook your favorite devices if you aren’t careful! Just like you’d protect your own skin, stick to the shade where possible and try to keep your devices out of the sun for long periods.

Not Using a Case or Cover

This is one of those tech habits that may seem like a no-brainer, but we’ve had plenty of customers come in with a broken device that doesn’t have any kind of protective covering. Accidents happen to everyone, and the last thing you want is a costly mistake that damages your device in a split second!

From spills to accidental drops, a sturdy case or cover can help protect your device from harm. Even if you don’t want to add too much bulk, a sleek silicone phone case or a slim tablet screen protector can make a difference. You can even get cases and silicone keyboard covers for your laptop.

On that note, it’s also a good idea to get a protection plan or a warranty when you’re buying your device, if one is available to you. This way, if you do end up ruining your tech, you’re still protected!

Get More Out of Your Tech Devices

Taking good care of your tech devices can preserve their battery life and improve their lifespan. Though you’ll have to put some thought into how you treat your phone, tablet, or computer, a bit of effort can help you enjoy your device for years to come!

Of course, we also understand that mistakes happen, no matter how careful you are. That’s why our team is here to offer fast and professional repairs with a lifetime warranty. Contact us today to repair everything from phones to digital watches to game consoles.

What Should You Do if Your Apple Watch Is Not Charging?

Apple Watches have a battery life of about 18 hours when fully charged, according to Apple. The battery life factors in things like using apps, receiving notifications, and doing a 60-minute workout. But if your Apple Watch is not charging, these figures don’t count.

The problem could stem from something minor or more serious. Its common causes may include a broken cable, outdated software, and dirt/debris stuck in the watch. Either way, getting to the root of this problem can help you figure out a solution.

Most charging problems on Apple Watches are easy to fix. Here’s how to act to get your device’s power to its normal levels:

Make Sure the Apple Watch is Not Charging

If your Apple Watch doesn’t last about 18 hours on a full charge, it might have a battery life problem. In this case, it will display a red lightning bolt to indicate that the battery is low. And the moment you place it on a charging dock, expect to see the lightning bolt color changing to green.

Your watch may have the “green snake of death” when you place it on an Apple Watch charger. The “green snake of death” suggests that the battery is at a very low charge level. Charge the device for at least two and a half hours to fix this issue.

If the watch has a charging problem, it won’t display the green lightning bolt when you charge it. Instead, the red lighting bolt will appear on the screen persistently.

Check the Cable

Your Apple Watch will only charge if the connections from the charging cable to the wall outlet adapter are secure. Current will also flow to the device if the connections between the charging cable and charging dock are flawless. So, ensure that the plug and dock are free of cuts.

Place the charger on a different wall outlet or use a friend’s charge to see if the problem persists. It may suggest a broken Apple Watch or charger if it fails to work. Both sides of the charging system shouldn’t have any plastic wraps which get in the way of charging.

You can use another USB power adapter instead of the original cable. If it works, chances are that the original cable has a problem.

Restart Your Apple Watch

A forced restart can help remedy the charging problem if it stems from a software issue. It resets the operating system to fix any software glitches. The method also helps clear any issue causing your battery to drain power faster.

To force restart the device, remove it from the charger. You should then press and hold the side button and digital crown for ten seconds. And when the device displays the Apple logo, gently release both buttons.

Only force restart your Apple Watch if it isn’t responding. Please don’t do it while updating watchOS. Also, leave the watch on the charger for a while once it displays the Apple logo and the progress wheel.

Update the watchOS

A watchOS update can keep your Apple Watch free of bugs and security issues. Each update comes with the latest security enhancements and bug fixes for the watch model you are using.

Updating the operating system can help fix the charging issue if it comes from a software bug. To update watchOS 6 and above, choose General from Settings and then Software Update. Tap install if there’s an update, and stick to the instructions given.

If your watch runs on watchOS 5 or a previous version, open its app on your iPhone. Under My Watch, go to General and then Software Update. Agree to download the OS updates and follow the instructions.

Only update the watch when it has at least a 50 percent charge. If the charge is insufficient, place the device on a charger. It’s impossible to do the update with a dead battery on a watch that wouldn’t charge.

Unpair and Factory Reset Your Apple Watch

If the charging problem persists, unpair the watch from your iPhone. Doing this will detach the device from your iPhone.

To unpair, the Apple Watch, open the watch app on your iPhone and select the My Watch tab. Choose All Watches and tap the information icon next to the watch. The last step is to press the Unpair Apple Watch option.

After finishing this process, pair the watch to your iPhone to bring them together. It helps resolve the charging problem.

You may do a factory reset to help restore your Apple Watch to its default settings. It also wipes out your watch data but backs it up on your iPhone.

Open the iPhone Watch app and choose My Watch for the factory reset. From the General option, choose Reset and then tap the Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings option. Finally, input your passcode to confirm the factory reset.

Clean the Watch and Charger

Debris and dirt can keep the Apple Watch from connecting to the charger properly. Debris, in this context, includes layers of lotion, makeup, lint, or sweat. You can use a damp alcohol pad to wipe the device and dry it off with a soft, dry cloth.

Remove the plastic wrap on the charging disk and watch before cleaning them. You should also switch off the device and disconnect it from the wall outlet to prevent electrocution.

Look Online to See if the Problem is Widespread

If the Apple Watch problems started after a software update, you are likely, not alone. So, look online to see if other Apple Watch wearers experience the same problem. If this is the case, expect Apple to release a bug fix.

The best place to look online for help is the Apple Support Communities. The forum allows you to ask questions, find answers and connect with Apple customers worldwide. It also features tips and insights from experienced users of Apple products.

Is It a Hardware or Software Issue? – 7 Ways to Diagnose Your Phone Problems at Home Before Seeking Help

Did you know that the first smartphone was created in 1994? As you might guess, it looked completely different than the phones you can buy today. Unfortunately, people still have to deal with phone problems even after all these years.

However, not everybody understands whether or not their issue stems from a hardware or software problem. Phone not working?

We’ve put together a brief guide that has all the information you need to know to get started on the right track.

1. Read the User Guide

Consult the user guide for your phone model and look up any troubleshooting tips or solutions that may help resolve the issue. You can usually find this information in the manual that comes with your phone or online.

The user guide may have a list of possible error messages that could appear and explain what each one means.

2. Check Battery and Connections

Make sure the battery is properly charged and all necessary cables/connectors are securely connected and not loose or damaged. Sometimes, an issue may be as simple as a loose connection or a dead battery.

Many battery-related problems are notably easy to resolve.

3. Reset Your Phone

Power off the device, unplug it from its charger if applicable, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on again to reset it.

It might sound simple, but sometimes a simple reset can fix common issues. This could be a helpful first step if you’re dealing with something like a software glitch or similar issue.

4. Update Software

Check for any pending updates to both your phone’s operating system as well as any installed apps and be sure to download and install them right away in order to benefit from any bug fixes or new features that may help address an existing issue you’re experiencing with your device. With modern smartphones, foregoing updates might lead to potential issues.

5. Clear Cache Data

Apps tend to store data in the form of temporary files called the cache, which can become corrupted over time and cause issues such as freezing or crashing of certain programs.

Deleting these manually via Settings > Storage can often help restore normal functioning once again. Cache data can be a major contributing factor to many software-related issues. This occurs on both Android and iOS devices.

6. Reset Network Settings

If your phone is having trouble connecting to wifi networks, try resetting your network settings by going into Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

This will delete any saved passwords or connections but should also clear up any connection issues you may have been experiencing due to glitches in the old settings data.

Resetting network settings can also be a great way to fix wifi problems without more drastic measures.

7. Troubleshoot Apps Individually

If a particular app is giving you trouble (such as crashing constantly), try closing out other applications running in the background. You can also update it manually via the app store, clearing its cache data separately, etc.

This can often pinpoint a more specific source of an error that you may have otherwise overlooked.

What Are Common iPhone Problems?

Common iPhone problems include battery draining quickly, difficulty connecting to wifi networks, slow app performance, and touchscreen issues. If you continue to experience any of these issues after trying the steps mentioned above, it may be best to contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Other issues might include software glitches and hardware damage. For example, if the screen is cracked or you’ve dropped it in water, physical repair may be necessary to address the issue. With any luck, however, the steps mentioned above should help you troubleshoot the most common phone-related issues without having to take further measures.

What Are Common Android Problems?

Android phones experience many of the same issues that iPhones do. However, Android devices are also more prone to certain issues such as malware and viruses, which can be difficult to troubleshoot.

Android devices are more susceptible to malware because of the large number of third-party apps available on Google Play. Make sure you only download trusted applications from verified sources and be sure to update them regularly for optimal security.

There are also a larger number of Android phones in circulation compared to iPhones. Since these two phones have different operating systems, hackers often write malware to target Android phones since there are more of them.

What Should I Do if the Above Tips Don’t Work?

Getting in touch with a professional technician or service center can often be the best course of action if the tips above don’t fix your issue. If you have a newer phone, some manufacturers may offer repair services that can help restore it to working condition.

In other cases, seeking out a professional technician who specializes in smartphone repairs may be the best option. Often, these technicians will have access to parts and tools that can help diagnose and fix the issue you’re having. Just be sure to research their past reputation.

This will provide insight into what experience you will get.

Dealing With Phone Problems Is Easier Than It Seems

Although managing phone problems might seem daunting, these simple steps should help you identify the source of the issue and get it fixed quickly. With a bit of patience and effort, you can easily troubleshoot issues that you experience.

Why Is My Samsung Smart Watch Not Turning On?

Research shows that 7 out of 10 people would use a smart watch if it gave them an insurance discount. Smart watches are the most common among Gen Zers.

If you own a Samsung smart watch, you may experience some difficulties. It is not uncommon to have some tech issues with one of these devices.

For instance, your Samsung watch may not be turning on. If that is the case, this guide will help you understand what to do next.

Keep reading to find out why your Samsung smart watch isn’t turning on.

It Isn’t Charged

If you are having issues with your Galaxy watch, there are some main culprits. When a watch is not turning on, the most common issue is a lack of charge.

You may have forgotten to charge your watch, or it wasn’t charging when you thought it was. This can result in it going dead without any warning.

It is easy to automatically assume that something is wrong. But the first thing you should do is to try charging your watch.

Connect it with a charger and step away for 30 minutes to an hour. This should give the watch plenty of time to fully charge so that you can try turning it on.

If it does not turn on, there is most likely something else going on that you can’t fix.

There Is An Update Error

Having an unresponsive smart watch can feel very stressful. This is a big investment, and you probably wear this watch every day.

There are a few common issues that customers have had with Samsung watches. One issue is the Samsung GVI3 update for the smart watch.

This is a faulty update that causes issues after it’s installed. The issue only occurs after installation and once you have turned the watch off.

It seems as though a reboot or a dead battery causes the issue. This results in your watch not turning back on after it was turned off.

There is still a lot of mystery around why this update causes such a big issue. Now that it is known, most Samsung users should not have an issue with it.

If you do see this update, you should never use it for your Samsung smart watch. If you have done this update and turned your watch off, you may need Galaxy watch repair.

Fruit Fixed provides Samsung Galaxy device repair services. This is the perfect option if you are experiencing an issue that you don’t have a solution for.

The Charger Isn’t Working

If your watch is not turning on, you have probably tried charging it. This may not work if something is going on with your Samsung charger.

The charger itself may no longer be working, which is why your watch isn’t turning on. The device may be broken, or there may be something wrong with it.

In some instances, it could also be the outlet the charger is connected to. Try moving the charger to a different power outlet to see if that helps.

If you suspect that your Samsung charger is the problem, you can try using your laptop. You can use a USB port on your laptop to connect your smart watch.

The Watch Is Damaged

When a device doesn’t turn on, there are a variety of things that could be wrong. When you can’t turn it on, it can be nearly impossible to figure out what the solution is.

This can happen if the device itself has become damaged. The battery may be out of juice, or the watch is damaged from impact or water exposure.

If you have tried all of the above solutions, there isn’t much left for you to do. You will need to take your device to a repair company to have them look into the problem further.

Troubleshooting Samsung Smart Watch Issues

There are other options you can try if you still can’t turn your watch on. One option is to try restarting the device by holding down the power button.

Do this for at least 10 seconds to see if the watch starts. If that doesn’t work, you could try factory resetting your Galaxy watch.

Keep in mind that when you do this, it will remove all of your data. If you get it to turn on, you will have to start all over again, as everything will be erased.

You can do this through the wearable app through Galaxy. You will need to go to the watch settings and tap the General tab before going to reset.

Confirm that you want to reset your watch and proceed. You can then try to power on your watch again by holding down the power button.

This is why it is always a good idea to back up your Samsung smart watch regularly. This ensures that if you ever have to reset it, your data is saved.

Samsung Smart Watch: Why It Isn’t Turning On

If you own a Samsung smart watch, you may run into issues at some point. One common complaint is people struggling to get their watch to turn on.

If this happens, the watch may not be charged, or there is an update error. This could also be the result of damage to the watch that you didn’t notice beforehand.

Steam Deck Repair: Video Console Troubleshooting Tips

Here’s a pleasant surprise: Steam offers more than 50,000 games for you to enjoy.

But what happens if your Steam Deck suddenly encounters an issue? This can be something minor like an issue with sound, or something that prevents you from using your device altogether. No matter what the issue is, you need troubleshooting and possibly Steam Deck repair.

Luckily, there are plenty of options you can take if you’re trying to fix your Steam Deck at home. This helpful guide walks you through Steam Deck troubleshooting so you can get back to playing in no time!

Initial Steam Deck Fixes

Before you assume something is wrong with your Steam Deck, there are some basic troubleshooting techniques you can try.

First, look for any system updates. You can find these by going to “Steam,” then “Settings,” then “System,” and then “Software Updates.”

Next, you’ll want to restart your Steam Deck. You can either do this from your Software Updates section or you can go to “Steam,” then “Power,” and then “Restart.”

Finally, check to see if there are any third-party installations causing your system to malfunction. These might be installed in Desktop Mode. Ensure you exited out of them or disabled them, then retest your system to see if the issue resolved itself.

Should none of these easy troubleshooting options work, you can attempt a forced start. Simply hold the power button down for three seconds. If your system still doesn’t turn on with this method, you might have an issue with your OS level.

For this type of issue, you’ll need to hold your power button down for 10 seconds. If this still didn’t resolve the issue, there are more advanced techniques you can attempt. When these Steam Deck fixes don’t work, you can try to individually troubleshoot for various issues or take your device in for professional repair.

Steam Deck Not Charging

This might seem obvious, but if you’re just using your Steam Deck for the first time, you need to plug it in using the power supply the company shipped it to you with. This wakes your Steam Deck from shipment mode, something used to save your battery. Otherwise, your Steam Deck most likely won’t turn on.

If this isn’t the first time you’ve used your Steam Deck and it’s still not turning on, then you need to plug it into a power source and check to see if the LED light is on (this is located next to its charging port).

If your Stem Deck’s LED light comes on, it’s charging. Once your console is fully charged, the light will turn off.

Should the light start to flash once you press the power button, it means your Steam Deck’s battery is completely drained. Plug it in, check to see if the LED light comes on, and charge it for a minimum of 15 minutes before attempting to power it back on.

Once you give your Steam Deck some time to charge, if your power button still fails to work, you can hold the “Volume +” button as you attempt to power it back on. Next, select “Continue”. This will boot your Steam Deck via its BIOS options.

When your console is on the charger for an extended time, it’s normal to show less than 100% charge. To ensure optimal battery health, the battery slowly discharges after a while.

Input Issues

Are you experiencing issues with your Steam Deck’s inputs? If so, try the following troubleshooting methods.

Go to “Steam” and then “Settings.” Look for “Controller” and “Test Controller Inputs.”

You can use “Test Controller Inputs” to help locate any issues using your test suite. Run this diagnostics test and once it’s complete, press and hold the “B” button.

Sound and Bluetooth

To check your Steam Deck’s audio setting, begin by going to “Steam,” then “Settings,” and then “Audio.”

If the issue is with your speakers and you don’t have any audio, check to see that there aren’t any other devices enabled for audio. These devices might be connected through USB-C, the 3.5mm jack, or Bluetooth.

If this is the case, switch your Steam Deck to another output and go back to its default speakers. Check that your device’s UI sounds are enabled. To check these settings, go to “Steam,” “Settings,” “Audio,” and “Enable UI Sounds.”

Should you still not hear any audio after checking these settings, you’ll need to restart your Steam Deck. You can do this by going to “Steam,” “Power,” and then “Restart.”

If you’re struggling to pair Bluetooth to your device, ensure that it’s in pairing mode. To do this, go to “Steam,” “Settings,” and “Bluetooth.” Look for your device in this list.

From there, use your device’s touchscreen to select your device. You can also press the “Menu” button to check for different pairing options. If you can’t pair with a device you previously paired with, your best bet is to forget the device and pair it again.

Dirty Screen

A dirty screen can hamper your Kindle Paperwhite’s performance. Dust, fingerprints, or food particles can interfere with your Kindle’s touch sensitivity.

To prevent your screen from getting dirty, all you need to do is regularly clean your screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

Avoid harsh cleaning agents. They may damage the screen. Remember to turn off your Kindle before cleaning it.

Low Battery

Sometimes, low battery levels can cause your Kindle Paperwhite 3rd generation device’s screen to become less responsive.

Tofind out if the problem is related to a low battery or if the device needs maintenance, plug your Kindle into a power source using the original cable and adapter.

Allow it to charge for at least 15 minutes before attempting to use it.

Ineffective Page Refresh

Like any other device, your Kindle needs to breathe. If it’s constantly running. This means that it can get bogged down and cause issues like an unresponsive screen.

To solve the problem, give your Kindle a quick restart. Press and hold the power button for about 40 seconds or until you see the restart screen.

This simple step can resolve most minor issues and effectively refresh your device’s performance.

Overheating from Excessive Usage

Using your Kindle excessively, especially in hot conditions, can cause it to overheat. If this happens, the screen might be unresponsive.

All you need to do is give your Kindle some time to cool down. Turn it off and let it rest in a cool place for a while. Once it cools down, turn it back on and check if the touchscreen is responding normally.

Faulty Screen

If none of the above solutions work, there’s a chance you might be dealing with a faulty screen.

In such cases, the only way forward is to contact Kindle repair services. They will help diagnose the problem and provide you with the appropriate solution.

This might involve replacing the faulty screen. Always choose to work with authorized service providers to ensure quality repair services.

Connectivity Issues

One of the more common Amazon Kindle issues is related to Wi-Fi connections. This can be quite frustrating as you need a stable internet connection to download books and use various Kindle services.

First, try turning off the Wi-Fi on your Kindle and then turn it back on. If this doesn’t work, reboot your Kindle by holding down the power button for 40 seconds.

Lastly, try resetting your Wi-Fi router or changing the network. If the issue persists, it might be worthwhile to hire a repair service.

Amazon Kindle Log-In Issues

Being unable to log in to your Amazon account on your Kindle can be a real hindrance. This can keep you from accessing your e-books and other Kindle services.

If you’re sure your username and password are correct, try restarting your Kindle. If you’re still unable to log in, you may need to reset your password on the Amazon website and then try again.

Battery Issues

Is your Kindle’s battery draining quicker than it used to? If yes, it’s a common issue many users experience.

Turning off Wi-Fi when you’re not using it, lowering screen brightness, and minimizing the use of your Kindle for non-reading activities can help extend battery life.

If these steps don’t help, your battery may be worn out and need replacing. A reputable tech repair service can provide guidance and potentially replace the battery for you.

Content Issues

Sometimes, books or other content you’ve purchased might not show up in your Kindle’s library. This is a well-known Kindle content issue.

Your Computer is Not Starting, Now What?

Computers have become a big part of our lives today, with 95.2 percent of US households expected to own at least one computer in 2022. These machines are a vital part of businesses too. They help get work done smoothly and accurately, besides keeping employees connected with their colleagues throughout the day.

But what happens if your computer is not starting? It can be a frustrating experience, especially if you’re in the middle of working on something important.

Thankfully, there are many simple things you can do to try and fix it. Today’s blog post will go over 10 of the most common things you can do to get your computer started again.

1. Charge the Battery

If your computer isn’t starting, one of the first things you should check is the battery. If it’s completely drained, your computer won’t boot up. Letting the battery charge for a few minutes can often solve the problem.

This is just one of the advantages of using a laptop over a desktop computer. You can take it with you and use it almost anywhere. You don’t have to worry about being tethered to a power outlet. And if your battery does die, you can usually get back up and running again in a matter of minutes.

Of course, it could be that the battery itself is too old and needs replacing, especially if it has been 2-4 years since you bought your laptop. Performing this easy upgrade can help minimize boot up issues in the future.

2. Try Using a Different Power Cable

Sometimes, a computer won’t start because of a problem with the power cable. If you have a laptop, you can try to wiggle the power cord where it plugs into the computer. If this doesn’t work, try plugging it into a different outlet.

If you have a desktop computer, try unplugging and replugging the power cord from the back of the CPU. You can also try plugging it into a different power source. If these don’t work, you may need to replace your power cord.

Fortunately, power cords are relatively inexpensive and easy to find yourself. Simply find a reputable store that sells computer parts and choose a new power cord.

3. Check Your Display

Check if your computer display is working by looking for any error messages that may pop up on the screen. The boot-up process has probably just gotten stuck if you don’t see any error messages. In this case, you can try restarting your computer or checking to see if there are any loose cables.

However, if you see blue screening or an error message, the issue is likely driver corruption. This means that the files that help your computer run properly are either missing or damaged.

Driver corruption can often be fixed by reinstalling the driver, which you can do by going to the manufacturer’s website and downloading the latest drivers for your computer model.

4. Reseat the Computer Hardware Inside

One possible reason your computer isn’t starting could be due to loose hardware. Inside your computer, there are a variety of components that need to be properly seated for the machine to function. If any of these components have come loose, it could explain why your computer isn’t starting up.

The solution, then, is to open up your computer and reseat all of the hardware. This simply means taking out each component and putting it back in its rightful place. Once you’ve done this, try starting up your computer again.

The problem will have been solved, and you’ll be back to working or playing in no time.

5. Check the BIOS

A problem with the BIOS can also cause boot-up issues. The BIOS is a basic input-output system that helps control how your computer starts up.

You can access the BIOS by pressing a certain key when your computer first turns on. Once you are in the BIOS, you can check the boot sequence to ensure that your computer is booting from the correct drive.

You can also reset the BIOS to its default settings if you have changed anything and saved it incorrectly. Suppose you are still having issues after exploring the BIOS. In that case, there is likely a more serious issue with your computer, and you should take it to a professional for further diagnosis.

6. Scan for Viruses

One potential cause of your computer not starting properly is software corruption due to malware issues. You can diagnose the issue by scanning for viruses using a live CD. This will allow you to boot into a safe environment and run a virus scan without the worry of infecting your operating system.

If you suspect that your computer has been infected with malware, this is an essential step in removal. Even if you don’t think your computer is infected, running a virus scan can rule out malware as the cause of your startup issue and help you focus on other potential causes.

If you do discover that the boot-up problem was the result of malware, you can avoid it in the future by updating your Mac regularly.

7. Remove Unnecessary Accessories

Boot-up problems are often caused by too many accessories attached to the computer. If your computer is not starting, try removing unnecessary accessories, such as printers, scanners, or external hard drives. Once you have removed all unnecessary accessories, restart your computer and see if the problem has been resolved.

If the boot-up issue persists, another cause may need to be addressed. However, simply removing unneeded accessories is enough to get the computer up and running again in many cases.
