Why Is My Samsung Not Receiving Texts?

Did you know that the average person glances at their smartphone 144 times a day, which roughly equates to once every 10 minutes?

Yet, these might be glances of frustration if you’ve been trying to figure out why your Samsung is not receiving texts.

If you’re one of the millions facing this perplexing conundrum, you’ve landed in the right spot. This guide will walk you through a comprehensive investigation into why your Samsung device might not be receiving texts.

Most importantly, we will explain what you can do to solve the problem. Keep reading if you’re interested in finding out more.

Common Samsung Text Message Issues

When it comes to common Android problems, there are few as perplexing as your Android not receiving texts.

If your Samsung Galaxy is giving you trouble, it’s important to know that these issues can pop up under a variety of circumstances.

For instance, text messages may have suddenly stopped arriving on your mobile device. One moment, you’re chatting away with friends and family, and the next, it’s radio silence.

Or perhaps you’ve just upgraded to a new Samsung phone, only to discover that you’re not getting any messages on the device.

Sometimes, the issue can be even more baffling. For example, some people might be able to send messages to all of their contacts without a hitch but can only receive responses from a select few.

This is a common issue in Samsung Galaxy troubleshooting and leaves many scratching their heads.

Lastly, one of the most notorious and puzzling issues arises when you can’t receive text messages sent from an iPhone.

This cross-platform problem has caused many a headache and is a frequent topic in Samsung Galaxy troubleshooting discussions.

The good news is that you are not alone if you’re experiencing these problems and that there are ways that you can solve them.

Restart Your Phone

Restarting your phone might sound like an oversimplification, but it’s the first and easiest step to resolve the issue of not receiving text messages.

By doing this, your Samsung Galaxy gets a fresh start. This often resolves minor glitches or issues with apps not working as they should, including the messaging app.

Check Your Cellular Network

If restarting doesn’t help, the next step is to check your cellular network. Your Samsung Galaxy needs a solid network connection to send and receive incoming text messages.

Go to “Settings”, then “Connections”, and finally “Mobile Networks”. Make sure your data connection is on and you’re not in Airplane Mode.

If your network signal is weak or unstable, that might be the reason for your trouble.

Remove and Reinsert the SIM Card

Your SIM card is the bridge between your phone and your mobile network. If there’s an issue with your SIM card, you might not be able to receive text messages.

Power off your Samsung Galaxy, remove the SIM card, check it for any visible damage, clean it gently, and then reinsert it. Once you’ve done this, switch your phone back on and see if you’re able to receive messages.

Clear the Cache for Your Messaging Apps

Your messaging app stores temporary files, or cache, which can sometimes cause problems. Clearing the cache can solve many issues related to the messages app.

To do this, go to “Settings”, then “Apps”, select the “Messages” app, tap “Storage”, and finally hit “Clear Cache”. Remember, this won’t delete your messages. It just clears out the temporary files.

Check Your Blocked Contacts

If you’re not receiving text messages from specific contacts, they might be blocked. To check this, open your “Messages” app, tap the three dots in the top right corner, go to “Settings”, and then “Block numbers and messages”.

If the contact’s number is listed there, unblock it to start receiving texts from them again.

Solve iMessage Compatibility Issues

Not receiving text messages sent from an iPhone is a common issue. This is due to the fact that iPhones use iMessage, a messaging system exclusive to Apple devices.

If you’ve recently switched from iPhone to Samsung, make sure you’ve deactivated iMessage on your old device and on any other Apple devices you own. If this issue continues, you might need to reach out to Apple Support.

Free Up Storage

A lack of storage space on your Samsung Galaxy can interfere with receiving incoming text messages. Your phone needs sufficient storage to process messages.

If your phone storage is nearly full, consider deleting unused apps, old photos, or large files. You can check your storage under “Settings”, then “Device Care”, and finally “Storage”.

Get Professional Help

If your Samsung phone still isn’t receiving text messages after troubleshooting, you may need professional help.

When choosing a tech repair shop, look for places with excellent customer reviews and proven expertise, particularly with Samsung devices. Also, consider the shop’s turn-around time and warranty on repairs.

Always compare a few different shops to ensure you’re getting the best service at the fairest price.

And don’t be shy about asking questions before handing over your phone. The right tech repair shop will be more than willing to address your concerns and explain their process.

Why Your Samsung Is Not Receiving Texts

If your Samsung is not receiving texts, don’t panic. There are many simple things you can try at home to solve the problem.

Start by restarting the device. If this doesn’t work, consider clearing your messaging app’s cache and checking your blocked contacts.

Most Common PS5 Problems and How to Fix Them

Sony has now sold close to forty million PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide. In nearing this milestone, the company is turning a new chapter in the ongoing saga of video gaming.

Yet, this high-tech, ultra-fast gaming console is not immune to issues. There are many users who report having some kind of PS5 problems.

From system crashes to unresponsive controllers and from data transfer issues to glitches in 4K resolution displays, PS5 problems can interrupt your gaming marathon at the most inopportune times.

To make things easier for you, we’ve written a guide that addresses the most common PS5 issues and their fixes.

By troubleshooting these issues yourself, you can save yourself a great deal of frustration. Keep reading if you’d like to find out more.

Randomly Uninstalled Disc Games

If you’ve noticed that disc games mysteriously disappear from your PS5, you’re not alone. The reason for these spontaneous uninstallations isn’t entirely clear.

But the solution might be as simple as rebooting your system. Make sure to disconnect it from power, wait for a few minutes, then reconnect and power up again.

This action resets the system’s memory and often resolves the issue.

You should also check to make sure that you’ve completed all of your system updates. All gaming systems, including PS5s and Xboxes, need to be updated from time to time.

Games Deemed Unplayable

Sometimes, your PS5 might declare a game “unplayable,” even though it should work fine. This is a common Playstation console problem and could be due to several factors.

One of the most common reasons is a faulty or incomplete game installation. You can fix this by deleting the game from your PS5 and reinstalling it.

Remember to back up any saved game data to avoid losing progress. If the issue continues, try updating your PS5 software. Sony frequently releases updates to improve system performance and fix bugs.

PS5 Controller Drift

PS5 controller drift refers to when your character moves without any input from the controller. This annoying problem can often be fixed without needing PS5 repair.

Try resetting your controller by using a small tool (like a pin) to press the reset button at the back of the controller. After this, reconnect your controller to the PS5.

If this doesn’t work, it might be a hardware issue requiring professional repair or controller replacement. Make sure to bring your PS5 to a reputable repair company that will meet or beat the prices of other retailers.

Overheating

The PS5, like any electronic device, can overheat if not adequately ventilated. If your console turns off with a warning about the temperature, it’s time for some PS5 troubleshooting.

Make sure your console has plenty of space around it and is not placed near a heat source. Clean the vents regularly to remove dust buildup which can restrict airflow.

If overheating continues, it might indicate a hardware problem that needs professional attention.

PS5 Controller Won’t Charge

If your PS5 controller isn’t charging, try using a different USB cable or wall adapter first. If it still doesn’t charge, the issue might be the battery or charging port.

Unfortunately, this will require a PS5 repair, as the controller must be opened to replace these parts. Remember, unofficial repair services may void your warranty, so always use an authorized repair center.

System Crashes

Nothing is more frustrating than PS5 crashing in the middle of a game. This can happen for several reasons, including software bugs, faulty hardware, or problems with your game disc.

Restart your PS5 and ensure it’s updated to the latest software. If you’re playing from a disc, check it for scratches. A factory reset might help, but this should be a last resort as it will erase all your data.

Power issues can manifest in many ways, such as the PS5 not turning on, turning off suddenly, or not coming out of rest mode.

Try using a different power outlet or cable. If the problem persists, it might be an issue with the power supply unit inside the PS5. This is a serious issue that needs professional repair.

Breaking in Rest Mode

A common PS5 issue involves the console breaking or freezing while in rest mode.

As a workaround, disable rest mode until Sony releases a software patch. Go to Settings > Power Saving > Set Features Available in Rest Mode and uncheck the boxes.

SSD Storage Errors

SSD storage errors are among common PS5 issues and fixes. The system might fail to recognize your external SSD or wrongly state that it’s full.

If you are using a new SSSD, make sure that it is compatible with PS5. Then, power down the PS5, disconnect the SSD, and reconnect it carefully.

If the issue continues, try formatting the SSD. Note that this will delete all data on the drive.

Not Booting in Safe Mode

Sometimes, the PS5 might not boot in safe mode. This could indicate a problem with your console’s firmware or hardware.

If you’ve tried powering off and unplugging the console with no luck, it’s time to contact a professional for repair. Safe mode is a diagnostic mode. Therefore, if it fails to launch, your PS5 likely needs expert attention.

The Top PS5 Problems

It can be frustrating to experience PS5 problems when you’re trying to play your favorite video games. The good news is that there are many simple solutions to these types of problems.

If your counsel is randomly uninstalling disc games, try disconnecting the power, reconnecting it, and then booting the system up again. If your system continually crashes, it might be time to get professional help.

How to Fix the Black Screen of Death on an iPhone

There are 124.7 million iPhone owners in the United States. If you’re among them, you likely rely on your phone for much more than making calls or sending texts. We use our phones to store documents, take pictures, listen to music, shop online, check social media, and so on.

Sometimes, it’s when you’re without a working phone that you realize how much you need it. Unfortunately, if you’ve seen the “black screen of death,” you can’t rely on your phone until you fix it.

So, how do you repair an iPhone’s black screen? Keep reading to find out.

What Is the Black Screen of Death?

As you might imagine from the name, the dreaded black screen of death is a red flag that there are issues with your device serious enough to cause it to stop working.

You’ll know you’re dealing with this severe iPhone malfunction when you pick up your device and the screen remains black and unresponsive.

First, charge the device to ensure it isn’t due to a drained battery. If you know it’s fully charged, but the screen is still black, you’re likely dealing with the black screen of death. You may notice signs that the phone is on, such as vibrations and sounds, but you won’t see anything on the screen.

Thankfully, there are ways to repair these issues.

What Causes the iPhone Black Screen?

There are several causes of the black screen of death.

It’s a common problem that can occur when you drop your device on its screen. Accidents like these cause hardware issues, damaging the internal components and leaving your display black.

Dropping a phone in water may also cause the black screen if it’s submerged long enough. Newer iPhone models are water-resistant up to a certain depth and time limit. However, no phone is completely waterproof.

If you drop your device and notice cracks along the screen, you’ll need to repair it

Sometimes users report the black screen of death after charging the device overnight. If the issue isn’t due to a hardware problem, it may be a software glitch.

In some instances, downloading the wrong iOS update or an incomplete update can result in an unresponsive screen.

Fixing the Black Screen of Death

If you did some troubleshooting and you’re sure the problem isn’t due to a drained battery, it’s time to try some basic iPhone repair techniques.

Here are the next steps to take.

Try a Forced Restart

Although it’s frequently used as a joke, the common tech advice of turning the device off and on again is incredibly useful.

A force restart reboots the device, including the apps and software. It forces a power cycle and clears the phone’s short-term memory.

Sometimes, this is all you need to do to clear all the open applications and get your device back in working order. If the problem is caused by a rogue app, this solution may clear the malfunction and give you control again.

These are the steps to take for iPhone 8 and newer models:

  1. Quickly press and release the volume up button
  2. Quickly press and release the volume down button
  3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo
  4. Release the side button

Restore to Factory Settings in iTunes

If the above solution doesn’t work, you may have to restore your phone to its factory settings. The downside to this method is that you’ll lose all data.

We strongly recommend keeping up with iPhone cloud backups in case you run into an issue like this. You can back up your iPhone even if it says “not enough iCloud storage” with these tips

If you need to reset your device, connect your phone to your computer using Wi-Fi or a USB cable. Open the iTunes app on your computer and click on the device button near the top left of the window.

Select “Summary” and then “Restore.” You’ll see some on-screen instructions to follow.

Pro Tip: Always click the eject button before disconnecting your device from the computer.

iTunes can fix the black screen of death, but this route will erase your phone’s data. If you have an iCloud backup, you can restore your phone to a previous version.

Contact an iPhone Repair Company

If the above solutions didn’t work, the issue is mostly likely hardware-related. Your phone is full of delicate components that can malfunction for various reasons. Drops and accidents are two of the most common causes, but sometimes we’re not sure why a phone breaks.

Leave the hardware repairs to the professionals. Attempting to fix an iPhone yourself can result in damaging the device further or breaking it entirely. You often need special tools to open and repair an iPhone.

You have two options at this point. You can take your phone to an Apple Store or go with a third-party repair service.

If your device is still covered under warranty, you need to read the details of your agreement. Getting a phone fixed through a third party may void your warranty.

However, if your phone isn’t covered anymore, going to a third-party repair service is an excellent way to save you money. Here at Fruit Fixed, we have a low-price guarantee

Steam Deck Repair: Video Console Troubleshooting Tips

Here’s a pleasant surprise: Steam offers more than 50,000 games for you to enjoy.

But what happens if your Steam Deck suddenly encounters an issue? This can be something minor like an issue with sound, or something that prevents you from using your device altogether. No matter what the issue is, you need troubleshooting and possibly Steam Deck repair.

Luckily, there are plenty of options you can take if you’re trying to fix your Steam Deck at home. This helpful guide walks you through Steam Deck troubleshooting so you can get back to playing in no time!

Initial Steam Deck Fixes

Before you assume something is wrong with your Steam Deck, there are some basic troubleshooting techniques you can try.

First, look for any system updates. You can find these by going to “Steam,” then “Settings,” then “System,” and then “Software Updates.”

Next, you’ll want to restart your Steam Deck. You can either do this from your Software Updates section or you can go to “Steam,” then “Power,” and then “Restart.”

Finally, check to see if there are any third-party installations causing your system to malfunction. These might be installed in Desktop Mode. Ensure you exited out of them or disabled them, then retest your system to see if the issue resolved itself.

Should none of these easy troubleshooting options work, you can attempt a forced start. Simply hold the power button down for three seconds. If your system still doesn’t turn on with this method, you might have an issue with your OS level.

For this type of issue, you’ll need to hold your power button down for 10 seconds. If this still didn’t resolve the issue, there are more advanced techniques you can attempt. When these Steam Deck fixes don’t work, you can try to individually troubleshoot for various issues or take your device in for professional repair.

Steam Deck Not Charging

This might seem obvious, but if you’re just using your Steam Deck for the first time, you need to plug it in using the power supply the company shipped it to you with. This wakes your Steam Deck from shipment mode, something used to save your battery. Otherwise, your Steam Deck most likely won’t turn on.

If this isn’t the first time you’ve used your Steam Deck and it’s still not turning on, then you need to plug it into a power source and check to see if the LED light is on (this is located next to its charging port).

If your Stem Deck’s LED light comes on, it’s charging. Once your console is fully charged, the light will turn off.

Should the light start to flash once you press the power button, it means your Steam Deck’s battery is completely drained. Plug it in, check to see if the LED light comes on, and charge it for a minimum of 15 minutes before attempting to power it back on.

Once you give your Steam Deck some time to charge, if your power button still fails to work, you can hold the “Volume +” button as you attempt to power it back on. Next, select “Continue”. This will boot your Steam Deck via its BIOS options.

When your console is on the charger for an extended time, it’s normal to show less than 100% charge. To ensure optimal battery health, the battery slowly discharges after a while.

Input Issues

Are you experiencing issues with your Steam Deck’s inputs? If so, try the following troubleshooting methods.

Go to “Steam” and then “Settings.” Look for “Controller” and “Test Controller Inputs.”

You can use “Test Controller Inputs” to help locate any issues using your test suite. Run this diagnostics test and once it’s complete, press and hold the “B” button.

Sound and Bluetooth

To check your Steam Deck’s audio setting, begin by going to “Steam,” then “Settings,” and then “Audio.”

If the issue is with your speakers and you don’t have any audio, check to see that there aren’t any other devices enabled for audio. These devices might be connected through USB-C, the 3.5mm jack, or Bluetooth.

If this is the case, switch your Steam Deck to another output and go back to its default speakers. Check that your device’s UI sounds are enabled. To check these settings, go to “Steam,” “Settings,” “Audio,” and “Enable UI Sounds.”

Should you still not hear any audio after checking these settings, you’ll need to restart your Steam Deck. You can do this by going to “Steam,” “Power,” and then “Restart.”

If you’re struggling to pair Bluetooth to your device, ensure that it’s in pairing mode. To do this, go to “Steam,” “Settings,” and “Bluetooth.” Look for your device in this list.

From there, use your device’s touchscreen to select your device. You can also press the “Menu” button to check for different pairing options. If you can’t pair with a device you previously paired with, your best bet is to forget the device and pair it again.
